During our time operating in M&E support, we have worked with a number of project managers and building surveyors in a capacity of M&E advisors on Cat A and Cat B fit-out projects across London.
Our key role here is to ensure that the subcontractors working for the design and build specialists undertake the mechanical and electrical works in accordance with the employers requirements. We also ensure that high levels of quality are met and that all services and systems are commissioned and handed over in accordance with general standards and client expectation.
We are regularly asked to comment on the accuracy and suitability of M&E subcontractors submitting prices and tenders to our clients, either directly or as part of a contracted D&B fit-out proposal.
In such instances we use our vast experience to give general advice and we offer to engage directly with the subcontractors in order to establish the best negotiation terms for our clients.
We are often requested to provide a tender specification and contract to clients wishing to outsource their PPM responsibilities, relative to the servicing of the main plant infrastructure and internal services & equipment. In such cases we consult with our clients over their specific requirements before drafting and finalising a contract on their behalf.
We are quite often requested to resolve disputes of an M&E services nature whereby the end user may be dissatisfied with the performance of the Engineering installations.
Our role on these occasions is required to be impartial and pragmatic whilst being diligent to possible malpractice.
We have a 100% success rate in resolving such cases in favour of our clients.
Although we are usually engaged in formal appointments, based on agreed fee proposals; from time-to-time, we simply give advice deemed as ‘Ad-Hoc’ to clients who just need a steer in the right direction, towards achieving their specific requirements. This type of advice is offered "ex-gratis" and does not always lead to a follow-up engagement.
Whilst we are careful not to overload on this line of consultancy, we continue to offer it, wherever we can, as we believe this to be a fundamental part of our company's ethos.
